Our love story.

We met in 2000. The first 8 years of our relationship didn’t extend beyond “Hi” when we bumped into each other around the city. Then after a frustrating night of single life, I prayed for direction and Angela’s face appeared in my mind! The next day, I text her, something random like “What’s up?” She was nice. I kept texting for a few weeks and finally got the courage to call and ask her to dinner. She said yes. When I proposed 9 months later in front of our families, she said yes again!

Three important details about our Ultimate Wedding.

First, we want our families to bond, so we are planning an extra special welcome trip to the state fair followed by a BBQ dinner with lots of mixing and mingling! Second, a party isn’t a party without spectacular music…Think Big Band horns plus an extraordinary NY DJ (and friend) spinning pop, soul, funk, and hip-hop! Finally, we want our guests to walk away with something honoring both of our cultures, a custom cookbook with recipes reflecting our diverse backgrounds (New York, Jamaica, Texas & Nigeria). This is something they can keep and will show our appreciation!

Our everyday dream day.

Our everyday dream day would be a combination of great weather, food, and relaxation. It would call for one part pancake breakfast (with real maple syrup and a cappuccino), one part warm sunshine (not a cloud in the sky), one part hammock (with a gentle southern breeze), one part jazz (or classical if we’re really mellow), one part butter pecan ice cream (in a waffle cone of course), one part laughter (so hard our sides hurt), and ten parts x’s and o’s (or more if we prefer a sweeter day). We’d never want to wake up!
