Our love story.
Working in advertising. A melting pot of young, intelligent, creative minds. Hours spent with like-minded people. Its no doubt interoffice relationships are so frequent in this field. My fiancé, Mike, and I were friends, working at the same ad agency. When we were assigned the same client, we found ourselves traveling the country together on shoots, spending hours talking, discovering our shared love for the arts, running, photography, travel, and wining/dining. By the flight back home we knew we were meant for each other! On his 30th birthday, I surprised Mike with skydiving and he surprised me with a ring!
Three important details about our Ultimate Wedding.
Fresh New Year, Fresh New Life Together. January 1st, 2011 1.1.11 Simple. Elegant. Black Tie. Red Poppies. Family. Friends. Love. Wedding in Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Dallas (longest aisle in town and the most amazing organ!). Reception at The Meyerson Symphony Center (fantastic open space for creativity and where he proposed). Décor: simple, modern, elegant. Black and white with touch of red. My mother passed away from cancer in 2001 (I was 16). She used to call me her "Poppy." They are my favorite flower and a reminder of her beauty and spirit. This is the red inspiration.
Our everyday dream day.
Early morning run around the lake, while the world is still and the lake is glass. Exercise. Energy, De-Stress. Late morning Champagne/Jazz brunch at local hot spot, followed by afternoon at the spa with closest girlfriends and family. Early evening happy hour with fiancé, followed by a ballet, opera, or symphony concert. Late night dinner downtown at trendy new restaurant. Home to enjoy a glass of wine, put on the PJs, and spend a quiet moment with each other before a new day begins.
