Crate and Barrel's Ultimate Wedding Contest

Our love story.

I am from Metro-Detroit and he is from a very small town in Georgia. We are both graduate students in Macon. On our first date, we hiked to a waterfall and camped out with his yellow Labrador. We forgot to turn the GPS off and it died during the night. There were no marked trails out, so we walked north for several hours until we found a road. Along the way, we talked about everything imaginable and found that even though we were lost, we each had found the love of our lives.

Three important details about our Ultimate Wedding.

1. We want to share with our families what we have found so great about each other by showing the best of the North and the South—think mint juleps meet the cosmopolitan. Southern tradition with northern flair. 2. We are both passionate about the environment and would like some emphasis on this fact represented in our wedding. 3. Soul Music. My old home, Detroit, is the birthplace of Motown. Our new home, Macon, is where Otis Redding, Little Richard, and James Brown got their start.

Our everyday dream day.

We make the most of every opportunity that is presented to us, and we’re always up for new challenges. Our everyday dream day starts with working on one of our favorite community projects, such as the living wall in downtown Macon. Then, we will spend the afternoon hiking or biking with Roxanne, the Labrador. In the evening, we like to do something new, such as trying out a new restaurant with friends, catching a show or concert, or going to a sporting event-- as long as we are together, it is guaranteed to be a blast!
