Our love story
We knew that our journey would be "special & different" from Day 1. Two southerners living in the DC area, both attorneys (with huge student loan debt), & similar upbringings. I am legally blind & Brian has been my eyes when I couldn't see, he's held my hands through two operations & my lupus diagnosis. Regardless of what we've faced, we've made it TOGETHER. Our faith in God, friendship, families, & love will continue to be our foundation. For THAT, alone, we are grateful...LOVE never fails!
Three important details about our ultimate wedding.
1)We'd love a large fall wedding in my hometown (Charlotte) surrounded by our close family, friends & church members who've poured into our lives. 2)A candlelit wedding ceremony with violin & gospel music & large beautiful white flower arrangements (my grandmother's one request). 3)We're both foodies: so, an upbeat & colorful reception that invokes our southern heritage & family-oriented nature, with a modern twist (think: bbq (Brian's from Memphis), shrimp & grits, sushi & an open bar.
Our ultimate dream home.
Our home would have a modern & traditional feel, like us. Single story: my mother, aunt and I have lupus & stairs can be tough. We'd want a formal living room with classic wood & upholstered furniture, rich/deep colors. Cooking is BIG to us (we're southern), so a large/open kitchen-cast iron cookware, stainless steel appliances & stocked for dinner parties! Aside from a beautiful master suite, enough bedrooms to start a family & an extra room or two for our parents, family and friends who visit!
