Our love story
In 2004, Carrie met Stasia for the first time. Carrie noticed Stasia’s crafty denim jacket and Stasia couldn’t believe how short Carrie was in person.
Their friendship turned into love after leading a service trip together in 2007.
How they knew? It was in the warmth and strength found the first time they held hands; the chemistry they felt slow dancing in their living room.
On the side of a snowy mountain, Stasia got down on one ski and – using sign language - asked Carrie to marry her.
Three important details about our ultimate wedding.
-Though from Chicago -a city we love- we dream of romantic seaside nuptials in a state that offers marriage equality.
-We picture a tented backyard family event with long dining tables, displaying flowers in vintage containers and homemade pies. A live band plays while lounge chairs and yard games are setup on the lawn.
-Our wedding will represent a commitment to social responsibility- with recycled invitations, locally grown fare, and support for companies with fair labor and eco standards.
Our ultimate dream home.
As an Oncology Nurse and a Human Rights Campaigner, we dream of a creating a peaceful and contemporary place of comfort and rejuvenation. Energy efficient appliances, bamboo furniture, recycled glassware and local artwork will be arranged charmingly within functional and organized spaces, keeping us committed to values of responsible living and hospitality. Brightly and festively decorated for every season, our home will be a thoughtful place for entertaining, relaxing and enjoying our family.
