Jo Gartin

Jo Gartin was born in Rotorua, New Zealand and raised on the Gold Coast of Australia. After studying psychology and physics at the University of Queensland, Jo relocated to New York City to model with Elite Model Management.

Throughout her nine years modeling, during which time she worked with such renowned photographers as Herb Ritts, Ellen Von Unwerth and Bruce Weber, Jo honed her own individual sense of style. Over this time, she began making custom mosaics selling exclusively to Fred Segal and Saks Fifth Avenue.

In 2001, Jo planned her own wedding and moved to Los Angeles with her husband, actor Christopher Gartin. Whereas some brides-to-be become overwhelmed by the planning, Jo relished the creative process and began experimenting with floral and stationery design. One year after walking down the aisle, she started Love Luck and Angels (loveluckandangels.com), which was named after a childhood preference to end all correspondence with the signature phrase.

After working with several friends on their weddings, word of Jo’s enviable style and work ethic spread quickly throughout Hollywood garnering nationwide press and a loyal group of clients who retained Love Luck and Angels for events of all kinds. Her services offer clients a delightful à la carte menu of everything one could wish for when planning an event from custom stationery to floral and color concepts, all with flawless execution. During the planning process, Jo showers clients with unique ideas, offers personal touches and impeccable presentation, resulting in celebrations remembered by all.

Throughout the last six years, Jo’s custom invitations, floral design and memorable events have drawn a clientele that includes Courtney Cox Arquette, Kate Walsh, Tori Spelling and Isla Fisher. In the process, Love Luck and Angels has become a multifaceted company with presence nationwide.

InStyle magazine regularly features Jo in design and entertaining stories, and her floral creations have graced the cover on wedding issues of many occasions. Vogue listed Jo as their No. 1 recommended wedding planner and People magazine celebrated the 2009 holidays with a feature showcasing Jo and her savvy approach to entertaining. She has also been featured in the pages of Lucky, US Weekly, Self, WWD, Elegant Bride, Modern Bride, Los Angeles Weddings, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Los Angeles Confidential Magazine, Angeleno, Bridal Guide and The Knot.

Her first literary endeavor, “Jo Gartin’s Weddings: An Inspiring Guide for the Stylish Bride,” lets brides-to-be in on the secrets of one of Hollywood’s most sought-after wedding planners and is available at amazon.com and all leading bookstores.
